Collection: Emma - A sweet neighbor.

I met Emma as she was walking down our gravel lane, kicking a can.

After numerous close encounters, I eventually achieved some level of trust. Starting at "Hello". To a few weeks later, "How are you today?" Emma had not had a real conversation in three years, when Aunt Philippe was tracked down.

Her parents are deaf-mutes, and she is home schooled. Her mother and father live life vicariously through their iPads. Everything they need is purchased online, or delivered from Walmart.

Emma's days include cleaning the ditch of beer bottles and discarded porn. And chucking the kitty litter in the woods. She does interface with home service companies; pool, lawn, pest, window washer, tree trimmer, gutter cleaner, power washer and dog groomer, "Here is your cash."

The only person allowed in the house is a manicurist for her parent’s monthly mani-pedi. Not much small talk, and no one speaks Vietnamese either.

Emma is well read. She would win Jeopardy hands down, even in sign-language. She needs a TV. Emma took up my offer to be an exclusive 6000rpm Apparel model, she is saving up for her online degree. For the most part, she hands me a Polaroid  picture or a selfie from mom's iPad.

We enjoy our occasional kicking the can down the road.

This collection includes Emma's dream acquaintances. I will toss updates in the blog.
